BENGALURU: Patient-safety software startup Graph AI has raised $13.3 million led by global technology investor Insight Partners. Existing investor Bessemer Venture Partners also participated in the round. The company plans to use the capital to expand across the US and Europe. It did not disclose the valuation at which the funds were raised.Founded in 2024, Graph AI develops software for pharmacovigilance, the process through which pharmaceutical companies collect, assess and report adverse reactions and other safety issues linked to medicines. Its Graph Safety platform automates tasks such as receiving adverse-event reports, sorting them and processing individual cases. The company said the system retains links to the source data and generates audit trails, allowing its work to be reviewed by safety specialists and regulators.Graph AI claims that in live deployments, its platform has cut the time required to process a case from more than three hours to under 10 minutes. It has also reduced operating costs by as much as 66%, it said.“Pharmacovigilance has traditionally scaled against rising case volumes by adding people and processes around legacy systems,” said Raghav Parvataraju, CEO of Graph AI. He said the company’s technology was intended to handle operational work while retaining human oversight and judgement.Since raising its seed round last year, Graph AI has introduced two products. Its intake module collects and sorts incoming adverse-event reports, while nucleus serves as a safety database and automates case processing. A third module, report, which will automate aggregate safety reporting, is scheduled to launch this month. The company is also developing signal, a product designed to identify emerging safety patterns across cases. It said it has onboarded pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers across North America and other markets, but did not disclose their names or the number of clients.Richard Matus, principal at Insight Partners, said pharmaceutical companies currently rely on fragmented software and service providers for patient-safety operations. Graph AI’s focus on integrating these workflows formed part of the investment rationale, he said.Get the latest Business News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
