Why Apple's stock chart is probably putting a smile on the face of new CEO John Ternus
Apple stock hit $345 on Tuesday, marking a new all-time high for the iPhone maker.
What more can new Apple ( AAPL ) CEO John Ternus ask for at this point in his life?
He's buff. He has a great tech-bro look. He is making gobs of money as Apple's new CEO. He is a new power player in the movie business. He just came out with a foldable iPhone that will probably be the it gadget for this holiday season, if you can find one.
And, oh yeah, Apple's stock price just hit a record.
Apple stock hit $345 on Tuesday, marking a new all-time high for the iPhone maker. Shares finished slightly off the highs at $339.75 but looked to be back in rally mode in premarket trading today.
The stock has been on a sizzling run since the Apple product unveiling earlier this month, pushing the year-to-date gain to 25%. The team at Bull Theory pointed out that Apple is now up 118,900% from its dot-com crash lows.
No doubt this has been a good month for Apple.
Apple introduced the iPhone Duo, a device that features a passport-like design that opens and closes like a book. It sports a 5.4-inch front display that expands to a massive 7.6-inch display when opened, ideal for watching movies, playing games, working, and multitasking.
The iPhone Duo will start at $1,999 when it hits the market in late October. The higher-spec Duo will cost north of $3,100.
While a lot of attention has been placed on the innovative Duo, Wall Street says don't sleep on the upgraded (better battery and camera) iPhone 18 suite. The phone officially went on sale worldwide last Friday, and demand appears brisk — despite the $100 higher price tag.
"While supply constraints are likely playing a role, we think that demand is holding up well through the first week of the cycle," Evercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani said.
