ChatGPT users face disruption

Bengaluru: OpenAI’s ChatGPT services were facing elevated errors and latency on Monday evening, according to the company’s status page. Users too took to social to post picture and text updates on the error being displayed on their screens. TOI verified the same, with the error displayed as, “a network error has occurred. Please check your connection and try again.”The company said it had identified issues affecting ChatGPT Work, with Plus users “particularly impacted.” ChatGPT Work mode was temporarily unavailable, OpenAI added.“We are working on implementing a mitigation,” the company said in an update on its status page. The incident was marked as “identified” and had been ongoing for about an hour at the time of the update.OpenAI’s status dashboard showed ChatGPT under an active incident, while its APIs, Codex, FedRAMP and Ads Platform were listed as operational. The dashboard reported 99.67% uptime for ChatGPT for the June-August period, compared with 99.94% for APIs and 99.98% for Codex.The outage comes as ChatGPT is increasingly used by consumers and businesses for content creation, research, coding and workplace productivity.
