TNR Gold launches 2026 exploration program at Shotgun gold project in Alaska

TNR Gold Corp (TSX-V:TNR, FRA:TNW, OTC:TRRXF) has launched its 2026 exploration program at the Shotgun Gold Project in southwestern Alaska, advancing work at the Shotgun and Winchester prospects in the Taylor Mountain Quadrangle.

The program builds on 2022 fieldwork and will follow up on geochemical anomalies identified through Novagold Resources' 1998 soil surveys, along with geophysical targets flagged by SJ Geophysics' 2011 and 2012 IP surveys.

TNR's strategy for the project is to attract a partnership with a major gold mining company. The company has consolidated and updated its mining claims in Alaska and is actively introducing the project to interested parties.

The exploration program will also allow TNR to meet its listing requirements and work commitments needed to keep the claims in good standing, while adding further information to the project's data room for potential strategic partners, according to CEO Kiril Klip.

"We may be at the beginning of a great discovery," Klip said in a statement.

"There is a clear path on how to move this project forward using the geological and geophysical research currently available to target drilling to expand the resource. The next step is to acquire a partner that shares our vision and recognizes the growth potential and value to be added to the Shotgun Gold Project over time."

TNR holds a 90% interest in the Shotgun Gold Project, located 190 kilometres south of the Donlin Gold Project within the Kuskokwim Gold Belt, an area emerging as a world-class, multi-million-ounce gold district. The Shotgun property includes several prospects, including Shotgun Ridge and the nearby Winchester target.

The Donlin Gold Project is an intrusion-associated system and one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in the world. The company has pointed to key similarities between the Shotgun prospects and Donlin, as well as other major intrusion-associated deposits globally.

At Shotgun Ridge, TNR is targeting a large-tonnage, porphyry-style gold system, with repeating fault-controlled structures identified through airborne magnetic and ground geophysical data offering encouraging targets for future drill testing.
