Wardogs Is a Hit on Steam, and It’s Already on Sale for $33

The online multiplayer shooter Wardogs went up for early access on Steam last week, and it’s been a massive hit. It sold over 1 million copies at launch, and continues to rank incredibly high on the concurrent users list. If you’re interested to see what all the fuss is about, you can get it on sale for $32.79 at Fanatical , down from its usual $39.99.

This deal is part of Fanatical’s September Savers sale , which also has discounts on games like Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem, and even brand-new releases like Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Wardogs is a military-themed first-person shooter that puts you in a large-scale map where 100 players, divided into three teams, fight to occupy the Control Zone. The Control Zone is a 2x2km zone randomly located within the large map. The team with the most players inside the Control Zone earns points, and the first team to rack up 100 points wins.

The game has all sorts of weapons and military vehicles you can equip, but they all cost money to add to your loadout for any given match. Each player starts with $10,000, an amount that can go up or down depending on how you play. Publisher Team17 says, “Every teamplay action you perform rewards cash, from reviving squadmates, transporting friendlies to the zone, or controlling the objective.”

You can build fortifications to help strengthen your team’s position on the map. But the enemy can destroy your base, too, if they have the firepower to do so.

For now, Wardogs is PC-only. It’s still in early access, so you can expect it to feel a little unfinished and to change over time. But if this kind of take on the online shooter genre sounds like it’s up your alley, now is a good time to jump in, especially since you don’t have to pay full price.
