The Saw Turns Again Walkthrough - Crimson Desert Guide - IGN

The Saw Turns Again is a Faction Quest that is part of the Charting the Unknown DLC category in Crimson Desert . This side quest teaches you how to run your first Facility, while also unlocking other ones across Pywel to eventually lease. Follow our walkthrough to start generating Camp Funds for the greymanes! We've included helpful info on how to level up your popularity and how to get the recipes you'll need here.

After completing the previous quest, The Stilled Saw, you'll have learned that the Timberham Sawmill is available to lease. First, find the Timberham Sawmill on your map . It's south-southwest of the Town of Hernand, not too far away. This places it across from the Capra Pasture.

Once you've found it, switch to the Facilities filter on your map. This will show you the sawmill, allowing you to inspect it and then lease it . As long as you have 15,000 Camp Funds via the Greymanes, you'll be able to lease the property. Next, travel over if you're not already there.

Enter the Management Mode at the Sawmill

Upon entering the sawmill, you'll get a tooltip that explains how to open the Management menu. This leads to more helpful information that walks you through managing the sawmill to get it up and running. After entering the Management menu, tap on the Manage Staff button.

On this screen, you can assign two Greymanes to the Carpenter role and one to the Sawyer role . You'll likely want to have more comrades available to assign as new slots open up. However, this is enough to get you started. While you can employ anyone in these roles, you'll receive bonuses for putting Crafters on Carpenter and Loggers on Sawyer.

As far as Camp Fund upkeep goes for each employee, don't worry about that. The sawmill will offset the upkeep as long as you don't overprice your goods and scare off customers. Once you've finished assigning staff, return to the previous menu and press Open Shop. Now you'll need to wait for customers to buy enough goods until you reach Popularity level 1.

As you level up your Facility's popularity, you'll have to complete specific goals to reach higher levels. For the Timberham Sawmill, you'll need to fulfill the following objectives to reach level 2:

You'll need to read the book, The Courtesy of Waiting, to learn the Waiting Table recipe that the quest refers to as a Standing Table. Reaching Popularity level 1 gives you the book as a reward. After doing so, head back to the Management menu and tap on the Place Installables button. Check the bottom right corner for the button prompt to open your Installables inventory.

Under the section that has an icon of a building and a chest, you'll find the Standing Table all the way to the right. You'll need at least 2,000 Camp Funds to place one inside the sawmill. After doing so, return to the previous menu and tap on Manage Goods. Now that you're at Popularity Lvl. 1, you'll have an extra slot for a second item to sell.

By default, you should have the Wood synergy task complete if you kept the default good here. Otherwise, you can select one with the Wood tag beneath its name. Adding a second item with the Wood tag will increase the synergy bonus. Then, as long as you keep the Selling Price bar in the green for a Favorable response, you'll satisfy three customers easily.

Similar to the previous level, follow the new tasks to reach level 3 popularity. These include the following:

Place a plank workbench (Crude Plank Workbench)

Reading the previous book mentioned will teach you the recipes for a Crude Plank Workbench and Crude Plank Box. Place them inside your sawmill to complete those tasks and to unlock plank goods. Afterward, return to the Manage Goods area in the Management mode. Pick three goods with the Plank tag so you can easily finish the task of selling 10 plank goods.

Upon reaching Popularity level 3, you'll have completed The Saw Turns Again. You can continue working on tasks to get other rewards and to make more money at your Facility. Or you can let it run on its own as you wander Pywel.
