A teaser from Ternus.

It’s hard to see exactly what’s in the teaser — which is John Ternus’s first since taking over as Apple CEO — but it looks a bit like a camera lens. We won’t have to wait much longer to find out, as Apple’s launch event kicks off at 1PM ET today. [Media: https://twitter.com/johnternus/status/2097672038781763614?s=20]

Here’s some insight into tech influencer campaigns.

Huawei says it didn’t send it, but an agency claiming to represent the company has been contacting tech influencers, offering to pay them to promote Huawei’s new Mate XT 2 foldable around the iPhone Duo launch, and disguise the posts to look like an organic, grassroots groundswell of enthusiasm. Waymo is live in Nashville on the Lyft app.

Lyft customers hailing a ride in Waymo’s service area (which includes Downtown/Broadway, North Nashville/Germantown, East Nashville, Midtown, and South Nashville) could be matched with a robotaxi. Waymo and Lyft first announced they’d be teaming up for a robotaxi service in Music City nearly a year ago. Lyft is also handling fleet services, such as cleaning, maintenance, and EV charging, through its Flexdrive subsidiary. Customers who would prefer a robotaxi ride can also book one through Waymo’s own app. [Image: A Waymo drives visitors along Lower Broadway, known as Nashville’s “Honky Tonk Highway,” on June 01, 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee. https://platform.theverge.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/09/gettyimages-2280032800.jpg?quality=90&strip=all]

Honor’s Magic 9 series gets an apple-green camera plateau.

The company has never been shy about its Apple-inspired designs, though this one feels a little more Honor’s own with the large circular camera incorporated too. The Magic 9 phones launch in China on September 28th, and feature cameras designed with Arri, support for two different teleconverter lenses, and this soft green color, which I do rather like. Trump wants Ford to cut ties with Chinese companies.

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a letter to the automaker that he was “deeply alarmed” that Ford licenses tech from battery maker CATL and automaker Geely, Reuters reports. Ford responded by accusing Duffy of being “wrongheaded” and “chasing headlines” — which, if you know Duffy, makes perfect sense. The letter drops a few months after the Trump administration banned Geely-owned Polestar from selling its EVs in the US. Dbrand seems to know what Apple is announcing tomorrow.

It currently has a page on its website for “iPhone Ultra” cases, skins, and screen protectors. Preorder notices say they’ll ship in September and “early October.” Dbrand’s also offering accessories for the unannounced iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. We’ll see if Apple’s rumored foldable fits the case on Wednesday. Why is Apple’s Watch SE 3 unavailable?

It’s not too surprising that most of Apple’s wristwear is now listed as unavailable on its website for shipment or pickup (but not all — we did see some Ultra models available), with a product event scheduled for tomorrow, but MacRumors points out that the value-priced version of the Apple Watch is unavailable too. Based on the rumors, we have been anticipating updates for the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3, and maybe the SE 3 is just taking a break in solidarity. We’ll find out tomorrow.
