NHL 27 Video Review - IGN

EA Sports NHL 27 reviewed by Marc Deschamps on Xbox Series X|S, also available on PlayStation 5."Hockey is one of the greatest sports in the world, and NHL 27 remains enjoyable largely due to that simple fact. The satisfaction of delivering a bone-crushing hit or snapping a wrist shot past a goaltender is just as effective as ever, and tiny tweaks to stuff like stadiums and music continue to add authenticity in small doses – but there are no illusions that anything truly substantial has changed this year. With franchises like NHL Hitz and NHL 2K long dead, there really aren’t any other options on the market. This lack of competition puts the hockey faithful in a difficult position, and doubly so since there weren’t many changes in NHL 26 compared to NHL 25 to begin with. The handful of differences here are mostly welcome, nothing is worse than last year, but very little is better either. It’s a shame that NHL 27 is still stuck in the past."

XP-Pen has a new portable Android drawing tablet.

Following the standalone Magic Drawing Pad from 2024, XP-Pen is now launching the Android 16-based Magic Pro 13 next month to tempt creatives away from sketching on iPads. The price hasn’t been announced yet, but it features a 3096 x 2064 resolution LCD display, with 100 percent sRGB coverage, 650-nit brightness, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. PSA: The SmartThings V3 hub is nearly sold out.

And they won’t be making more, meaning there won’t be a way to add Z-Wave devices to a SmartThings smart home. Aeotec, which makes both hubs for Samsung, told me they have about 10,000 left, which may last through the end of the year. Samsung discontinued the V3 last year and replaced it with the Smart Home Hub 2, which has twice the performance, but doesn’t support Z-Wave. It’s been replaced by the Smart Home Hub 2 (left). https://platform.theverge.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/09/IMG_9287.jpg?quality=90&strip=all]
