Watch live: Trump to honor Elon Musk, tech leaders at science summit

President Trump is set to recognize some of the biggest names in technology Thursday at the Science: A New Golden Age summit in Washington.

Trump will award the National Medal of Science to Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and AMD CEO Lisa Su. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell will receive the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

The summit comes amid growing concerns about potential risks of artificial intelligence .

Trump has largely resisted stricter guardrails on rapidly growing AI, instead securing a voluntary self-policing pledge last month from leading tech companies.

The event at the U.S. Institute of Peace is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
