Tiger Woods changes plea in latest DUI case

Golf legend Tiger Woods on Wednesday reversed a plea in connection with his latest DUI arrest , agreeing to plead no contest to a reckless driving charge and failure to submit to a sobriety test to avoid harsher punishment from a Florida judge.

Woods was arrested in March after striking a pickup truck and flipping his Land Rover in Jupiter, Fla.

Police body camera footage showed Woods kneeling on the ground and telling officers he called President Trump following the crash, which resulted in no injuries.

The 15-time major champion initially pleaded not guilty to DUI resulting in property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

He later announced he was stepping away from golf to seek addiction treatment, writing on social media he was “committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally.”

As part of his plea agreement, Woods will have his driver’s license suspended for five years and pay a fine.

One of the most famous athletes in history, Woods has had several run-ins with the law and been rocked by controversies during his professional career, including previous DUI arrests and scandals involving extramarital affairs.

He has a personal relationship with the president dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr.
