Analyst Ali Martinez believes XRP could target $60 if it confirms a decade-long ascending triangle with a monthly close above $3.66.
XRP must rally roughly 158% from $1.42 to reach the breakout level, while hitting $60 would require gains of more than 4,100%.
A $60 XRP price would imply a market capitalization of approximately $3.76 trillion based on the current circulating supply.
XRP could climb as high as $60 if it breaks through a resistance level that has capped its price for almost a decade, according to crypto analyst Ali Martinez.
Martinez identified a massive ascending triangle on XRP's monthly chart , arguing that the pattern has been developing for nearly ten years. Its upper boundary sits at approximately $3.66, making that price the decisive level for the bullish setup.
"XRP BULL MARKET TARGET: $60," Martinez wrote. "For nearly a decade, XRP has been forming a massive ascending triangle on the monthly chart."
However, he stressed that merely touching or briefly moving above $3.66 would not be enough to confirm the pattern.
"The $3.66 resistance level is the key barrier," Martinez said. "A monthly close above it would confirm the breakout and activate a technical target near $60."
XRP Must First Rally 158% to Reach $3.66
XRP is trading at around $1.42, leaving it far below the level required to activate Martinez's target.
The token would need to advance by approximately 158% just to reach $3.66. From its current price, a rally to $60 would represent a gain of more than 4,100%.
Ascending triangles generally form when an asset records progressively higher lows while repeatedly failing to break a horizontal resistance level.
Traders often interpret a confirmed breakout as a continuation signal, with the potential target calculated based on the pattern's height.
However, chart targets are not guarantees. XRP would need to overcome several intermediate resistance levels before challenging $3.66, and Martinez did not provide a timetable for the projected move.
His analysis should therefore be viewed as a conditional long-term scenario rather than a prediction that XRP will reach $60 this year.
The implied market capitalization highlights the extraordinary scale of Martinez's forecast.
XRP has approximately 62.74 billion tokens in circulation. At $60 per token, its market capitalization would reach about $3.76 trillion, compared with roughly $89 billion at $1.42 per token.
Such a valuation would require an enormous inflow of capital, although market capitalization does not translate directly into the amount of money invested.
