Investing.com -- Oracle Corp (NYSE:ORCL) has begun a new round of job cuts, according to three affected employees and an email obtained by Business Insider

The layoffs started on Monday, as expected by a source familiar with the matter. An Oracle spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Business Insider reported last month that the company had prepared plans for new job reductions to lower payroll costs while accumulating billions in debt to finance AI infrastructure.

The planned cuts reached double-digit percentages on some teams, according to an internal document.

Posts appeared on LinkedIn, Reddit, and Blind on Monday from people claiming to have been affected by the latest cuts.

This round follows earlier reductions this year. The company's workforce decreased by 21,000, or 13%, in the 2026 fiscal year that ended May 31, according to a recent filing. Oracle had approximately 141,000 employees before this current round of cuts.

Separately, Larry Ellison canceled a 10b5-1 trading plan, adopted June 22, 2026, that would have allowed him to sell up to 50 million Oracle shares worth approximately $7.5 billion through October 24. The cancellation was disclosed in a September 11 filing, with Oracle confirming no shares were sold. Oracle has not publicly explained Ellison's rationale, and no alternative sale plan has been disclosed.
