Sereias da Vila host Projeto Donas da Bola at Paulistão F match

Santos FC welcomed the Donas da Bola Project at this Wednesday's (26) match in the Paulistão F, in Santana de Parnaíba. The project promotes access to, participation in, and retention of girls and women in football, using the sport as a tool for holistic development, strengthening self-esteem, and promoting gender equality. In total, 70 women were able to watch the Sereias da Vila, and among them, 21 girls entered the field as mascots.

Run by the EPROCAD Foundation in partnership with the FIFA Foundation, the Donas da Bola Project offers free activities in safe and welcoming environments in the municipalities of Barueri, Pirapora do Bom Jesus, and Santana de Parnaíba. Through football, the 3 Times Methodology, and educational activities, participants develop sporting skills and important life competencies such as autonomy, leadership, cooperation, confidence, respect, and awareness of their rights.

"The opportunity to walk onto the field and get to know the Sereias da Vila players up close was unforgettable. I'm sure this experience will make a huge difference in each child's life, serving as inspiration and showing them that they too can dream and go far," commented Carla Moreno, an educator with the project.

The project directly contributes to SDGs 3, 4, 5, 10, and 16 by developing actions aligned with the principles of these goals. With regard to promoting gender equality, strengthening girls and women as active participants in their communities and in society aligns with targets such as "adopt and strengthen sound policies and enforceable legislation for the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls at all levels" and "end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere."
