SportsZone Top 5 Plays of the Week 8/30/26

SIOUX CITY, IA (KCAU) - Here is a look at this week's top 5 plays!

5. At number five, it's #7 Morningside football taking on #3 Benedictine. Tied at 28, Colin Gordon fakes the keeper and tosses it over the middle to Jakob Nelson for the go-ahead score late in the 4th quarter, as the Mustangs upset the Ravens 35-28! Gordon tossed four touchdowns in the win!

4. Number four is some high school football! Western Christian at West Lyon. Wolfpack on offense, but a tough throw from Tayden Moret is picked by Daxtyn Metzger, and he is off to the races and gone for the pick-six! West Lyon opens the year right!

3. Number three, we head to the Dakota Dome. Coyotes' redshirt freshman QB Austyn Modrzewski keeps it and breaks away down the sideline for a 68-yard touchdown run in his South Dakota debut! He would tack on over 300 yards and six more scores through the air! Have a day!

2. Now for our number two play. It is out at Akron-Westfield. Ben St. Pierre makes a fantastic effort to adjust to the ball, gets the toe down before falling out, and the refs are gonna call it a catch!

1. But our top play of the week has to be the chaos in Okoboji. Boji just going for the PAT. The snap is fumbled, then kicker Asa Jacobsen bobbles it, and just as it seems the play failed, Jacobsen emerges and tosses it to a wide-open Camden Vonk for two points!
