Serena and Venus Williams receive wild-card entry into U.S. Open women's doubles event
The sisters, who won the event twice, have not played together at a Grand Slam in four years.
Serena and Venus Williams will team up for next week's women's doubles tournament at the 2026 U.S. Open .
The sisters, who won the doubles event at the 1999 and 2009 U.S. Opens, received a wild-card entry. It will mark the first time they will play together at a Grand Slam event since the 2022 U.S. Open. They were set to play together at Wimbledon in June, but a knee injury to Serena forced them to withdraw.
Serena Williams took part in this week's mixed doubles event with Carlos Alcaraz. The duo reached the quarterfinals before falling to Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli, 5-4 (7-4), 4-1.
Serena, 44, is a six-time singles winner at the U.S. Open and will not play singles this year. Venus, 46, was victorious in singles at Flushing Meadows in 2000 and 2001 and is entered into the 2026 tournament.
The sisters teamed up at last week's Cincinnati Open after receiving a wild-card entry. They ended up losing in the first round to Marta Kostyuk and Peyton Stearns.
