Steve Belichick reportedly resigns as North Carolina's defensive coordinator

Steve Belichick is out as North Carolina's defensive coordinator after reportedly resigning on Thursday, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel .

Belichick has been on medical leave since early August.

"We look forward to getting him back as soon as possible," Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick said at the time. "It's a medical situation, so I really can't make any further comment."
