ESPN's 'College GameDay' to move indoors in Tuscaloosa because of Hurricane Isaias
Forecasts show the storm clearing the area before the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff of No. 2 Georgia and No. 6 Alabama.
ESPN's "College GameDay" has already made plans to move inside because of Hurricane Isaias.
The network announced Thursday that its college football pregame show would be held inside Alabama's Coleman Coliseum ahead of the No. 6 Crimson Tide's game against No. 2 Georgia .
ESPN announced after Week 5 that it was heading to Tuscaloosa for Week 6's only top-10 matchup. And while the weather may not be cooperating for the pregame show, it's looking like it will clear for the game itself.
Alabama said Wednesday evening that the 7:30 p.m. ET game was still set to be held as scheduled. Forecasts for Hurricane Isaias have the storm making landfall on the Gulf Coast after sunset Friday evening and accelerating northward.
As of mid-day Thursday, the projected track had the storm as a tropical depression located just south of the Tennessee-Alabama border — and north of Tuscaloosa — at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The hurricane could impact the travel plans of President Donald Trump, but the White House has not made an official announcement about a modification of Trump's weekend plans. The president said Wednesday that the hurricane could throw a wrench in his plans to be at the football game.
With the Carolina Panthers one of two teams in the NFL off this weekend, ESPN also said that Panthers QB Bryce Young would be the show's celebrity guest picker.
