IndyCar fans, start clearing your calendars. The 2027 schedule has arrived, and this could be one of the most exciting seasons the series has put together in years.
A historic trip to Barcelona. The greatest spectacle in racing. A return to Phoenix. Street fights, legendary road courses and a championship finale at Laguna Seca.
And the best part? Every IndyCar race will air on FOX in the United States for the third consecutive season.
This is the kind of calendar that deserves attention.
BARCELONA! INDYCAR IS GOING INTERNATIONAL! 🇪🇸
The biggest headline is the inaugural IndyCar race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on July 18.
The Spanish Grand Prix venue will host IndyCar for the first time, marking the series' first European race since 2007. It also gives five-time champion Alex Palou the opportunity to race an IndyCar in his home region.
Think about the possibilities. A new circuit for the series, an international audience and one of the sport's biggest stars racing close to home.
This is a genuine opportunity for IndyCar to expand its reach without abandoning the tracks that built its identity.
The 111th Indianapolis 500 takes place May 30, once again anchoring the month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The buildup includes the May 15 road-course race at IMS, followed by the biggest event on the IndyCar calendar.
There is nothing else quite like the Indianapolis 500. The history, the speed, the strategy and the unpredictability make it a centerpiece of American motorsports.
Now, combine that tradition with a schedule that takes the series from street circuits to high-speed ovals and international road racing.
OVAL FANS, YOU ARE GETTING A DOUBLEHEADER
The Milwaukee Mile returns for two races on Aug. 28-29.
The historic one-mile oval will give drivers two opportunities to collect crucial championship points during one weekend. With the season approaching its final stretch, that doubleheader could prove decisive.
Road America and Mid-Ohio also remain on the calendar, giving fans two very different road-course challenges.
The season concludes Sept. 5 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. If the championship remains close, the Corkscrew could provide a dramatic setting for the finale.
IS INDYCAR FINALLY BUILDING THE CALENDAR FANS WANT?
No schedule is perfect, and losing stops in Nashville and Washington, D.C., will generate debate. But the 2027 lineup offers a compelling mix of tradition, variety and ambition.
The Indianapolis 500 remains the crown jewel. Milwaukee brings back a doubleheader. Arlington gets another chance to establish itself, and Barcelona gives the series an international showcase.
With every race returning to FOX, IndyCar also has a consistent broadcast platform to introduce new fans to the sport.
Now comes the hard part: turning a great-looking schedule into packed grandstands, memorable finishes and sustained momentum.
IndyCar fans, be honest: Is this one of the best schedules the series has put together in years? And does the Barcelona race have you more excited than ever for 2027?
