After what was considered an ugly win in Week 3 of the college football season, Louisiana football travels to North Carolina to face Charlotte in Week 4.

The Ragin' Cajuns (2-1) escaped with a 21-14 victory over the University of Alabama at Birmingham . This go-round, fifth year head coach Michael Desormeaux will be looking for more from his offense against the 49ers.

Quarterback Lunch Winfield has carried his weight, leading the Cajuns in the air and on the ground. UL will need more from its running back room, especially this week against a team desperate for a win. Charlotte (0-3) enters the matchup off a close loss against a different Sun Belt Conference opponent, losing to Appalachian State 26-21.

The Cajuns will look to outwork the 49ers as they look to snag win No. 3 before SBC play kicks off next week.

Ball security will be key for both squads in this meeting. UL fumbled twice last week and Charlotte's quarterback, Cole Gonzales, has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns, so far. Winfield will do good things, but can his supporting cast show up too? With Darrell Smith set to start again, the Cajuns ground game should be more fruitful against the 49ers. Defensively, UL will look to have another strong showing looking to neutralize Gonzales and Charlotte's lead rusher, Khamani Alexander.
