Vote! Who should be The Register-Guard's boys Athlete of the Week?

The fall sports season is heating up, and athletes throughout the Eugene-Springfield area have continued to deliver outstanding performances.

Every week, you get to vote for The Register-Guard's Athlete of the Week.

Here are the nominees for this week's boys Athlete of the Week based on performances from Sept. 12-18.

Information about each nominee is listed below. Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving at registerguard.com/sports. The poll closes at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Thurston junior receiver Bentlee Davenport caught four passes for 89 yards Sept. 17 to help the Colts to a 34-16 win at Churchill.

Springfield senior quarterback Emmit Distefano went 15-for-17 passing for 196 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown Sept. 17 to lead the Colts to a 34-16 win at Churchill.

Springfield junior Adrian Estes ran a 5,000-meter personal best time of 15 minutes, 18.1 seconds and took sixth place Sept. 12 at the Oregon City XC Invitational.

Estes' time is the 10th-fastest in the state this season and ranks third among Class 5A boys.

Willamette senior running back and linebacker Conner Harvey rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries Sept. 17 to help the Wolverines to a 54-31 win over Jesuit.

Harvey also recorded two tackles on defense.

Springfield senior running back Khamani James ran for 60 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries Sept. 17 to help the Millers to a 21-7 home win over Eagle Point.

Willamette sophomore running back and linebacker Jonny Jenkins ran for 164 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and caught three passes for 24 yards Sept. 17 in the Wolverines' 54-31 win over Jesuit.

Jenkins also recorded three tackles and one tackle for loss.

Churchill junior running back Ryder Nagel ran for 90 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries and also caught a touchdown pass Sept. 17 in a 34-16 home loss to Thurston.

South Eugene junior Khalil Sabzalian ran a personal-best 5,000 time of 15:13.6 Sept. 12 to win the Ash Creek Invitational.

Sabzalian's time is the sixth-fastest in the state this season, regardless of classification.

Willamette junior quarterback Zeke Thomas went 14-for-21 passing for 126 yards and a touchdown Sept. 17 to help the Wolverines to a 54-31 win over Jesuit. Thomas also ran for two touchdowns and caught a 21-yard touchdown pass.

Springfield senior quarterback Brayden Wickersheim went 14-for-16 passing with 130 yards Sept. 17 to help the Millers to a 21-7 home win over Eagle Point.
