Yale announced that Tony had died at the age of 52 on Friday.
Tony Reno previously served as the school's football head coach before stepping down due to an illness in February.
On Saturday, Dante helped the Bulldogs erase a 21-7 deficit in the second half to emerge victorious.
The 22-year-old finished 22-of-39 for 298 yards and four touchdowns compared to one interception. He spread the ball around, completing passes to eight different receivers.
Reno also made plays with his legs, rushing for 39 yards on five attempts.
He's in the midst of his second season at Yale after throwing for 2,498 yards and 21 touchdowns while getting picked off 10 times during his 2025 campaign. The Bulldogs finished with a 9-3 record, winning the Ivy League championship.
This year, Reno was making his second appearance of the season after missing a loss vs. Cornell due to an elbow injury.
He's completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 752 yards and nine touchdowns to go along with one interception to open his 2026 campaign.
Tony previously coached the Bulldogs from 2012-25, compiling an 83-49 record while he patrolled the sidelines. Yale won five Ivy League titles during his tenure at the school, as he captured Ivy League Coach of the Year honors in 2022.
With Saturday's win, the Bulldogs improved to 2-1.
