Odegaard hits winner as Arsenal beat Hull to extend lead at top

What do BBC Sport's player ratings mean?

Arsenal needed a late goal from Martin Odegaard to beat a stubborn Hull side at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners, who thought they should have been awarded a penalty in the first half, looked like they would be frustrated by the Tigers before Odegaard followed up Noni Madueke's shot to tap in the winner.

Here's how I rated the players and you can see how you scored them below.

David Raya: A good save when Elliot Stroud drilled a low cross into the area. 6

Jurrien Timber: Not his best game in an Arsenal shirt. 5

Ezri Konsa: Another good performance, which is what is expected from him since signing for the Gunners. 7

Gabriel Magalhaes: Caught on the ball once in the middle of the pitch but the usual solid performance apart from that. 7

Riccardo Calafiori: A good defensive performance but not his usual impact when going forward. 6

Declan Rice: Went closest for Arsenal in the first half with an effort from the edge of the box but subbed as Arsenal chased a goal. 6

Bruno Guimaraes: The midfielder still seems to be getting up to the pace of the season. 6

Martin Odegaard: Scored the crucial goal for Arsenal . Injected pace into the Arsenal play whenever he got on the ball and deserved to score the winner. 8

Christos Tzolis: Lots of energy but not much quality from the winger. 5

Noni Madueke: A dangerous ball in followed by a driving run early in the game. Alongside Odegaard the winger was Arsenal 's main threat and his shot resulted in the winner. 7

Kai Havertz: Disappointing first half and turned back instead of shooting when played through. Went down after a shirt pull for a penalty but was given offside after a VAR check. A poor performance. 4

Gyokeres (on 63, Havertz): Did not make much of an impact. 5

Merino (on 63, Rice): A calming influence when he came on. 6

Eze (on 69, Tzolis): Added some flair to the Arsenal attack. 6

Hincapie (on 69, Calafiori): A more traditional left back and overlapped as Arsenal pushed for the win. 6

Subs not used: Arrizabalaga, White, Mosquera, Lewis-Skelly.

Konstantinos Tzolakis: Pushed Madueke's shot back into a dangerous area which resulted in the goal. 7

Lewie Coyle: A solid performance but replaced on the hour mark as Arsenal piled on the pressure. 6

Semi Ajayi: The centre-back seemed to be in the way of a lot of what came into the Hull penalty area. Came off with an injury. 7

John Egan: An early chance from a corner and had his head in his hands afterwards, which suggests he feels he could have done better. Defended well. 7

Nobel Mendy: Perhaps lucky to get away with a shirt pull on Havertz but defended well apart from that. 6

Elliot Stroud: Forced Raya into a smart stop with a dangerous delivery into the box. Struggled with the threat of Madueke. 5

Regan Slater: Part of a battling midfield. 6

Tim Iroegbunam: Worked hard to break up the Arsenal play and subbed late on. 6

Lucas Gourna-Douath: A real calming presence in the middle of the pitch for Hull . Shielded the back four but tired as Arsenal pushed for the win. 6

Mohamed-Ali Cho: Lots of runs behind the Arsenal backline, taken off in the second half. 6

Oli McBurnie: Battled all afternoon against the physically dominant Konsa and Gabriel. 6

Gelhardt (on 60, Cho): Introduced a threat down the right wing. 6

Norton-Cuffy: (on 61, Coyle): Booked after making his first tackle. Under a lot of pressure as faced with Eze. 6

Herrington: (on 69, Ajayi): Replaced Ajayi and Hull conceded soon after. 6

Subs not used: Butland, Thomas, Hjerto-Dahl, Vaz.
