WEEK 6 RECAP | Richland County teams go 7-2 in successful Week 6

Richland County teams went 7-2 for its most successful week of the season to this point.

Richland County High School Football Scoreboard

The Ontario Warriors used big play after big play to pick up a 42-28 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over the Pleasant Spartans on Friday, Sept. 25.

The Warriors got the scoring started with a 40-yard touchdown pass from Sean Tanner to Tre Fowler before Fowler added a 60-yard receiving touchdown and Max Ciroli broke a 70-yard touchdown run to give the Warriors a 21-14 halftime lead. Fowler started the second half with another 60-yard touchdown catch before Tanner added a two-yard touchdown run to make it 35-14 at the end of the third quarter. Trindon Flenoury finished off a game of big plays with an 80-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter to take the game to the final score.

Ontario improves to 6-0 and 3-0 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference. The Warriors host Marion Harding in Week 7.

Crestview 47, Springfield Catholic Central 7

The Crestview Cougars picked up win No. 1 on the season with a dominant 47-7 win over Springfield Catholic Central on Friday, Sept. 25.

The Cougars scored twice in the first quarter on Wyatt Barber touchdown runs of 4 and 3 yards to take a 13-0 lead after one. They scored 28 points in the second quarter alone when Montgomery Cline recorded a safety, Colton Ernandes kicked a 29-yard field goal, Carson Keener connected with Camden Keener on a 20-yard touchdown pass, Ben Sandvik ran in a three-yard TD and Ernandes drilled a 31-yard field goal to give the Cougars a 41-0 halftime lead. Sandvik finished off the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run.

Carson Keener threw for 153 yards and a touchdown while Camden Keener caught seven passes for 104 yards and a score. Barber ran for 152 yards and a two scores and Sandvik added two carries for 23 yards and two scores and Gavin Webb had 43 yards on five carries.

The Cougars improve to 1-5 and travel to St. Paul in Week 7.

The Plymouth Big Red picked up an emphatic 48-36 win over Chalker in 8-man football on Friday, Sept. 25.

After falling behind 8-0, Plymouth responded with a touchdown before Isaiah Miller cashed in on a Lincoln Distl interception to take a 14-8 lead midway through the first. The teams traded touchdowns before Weston Kammann connected with Isaiah Miller on a long touchdown pass to put Plymouth ahead 28-24. Kamman connected with Miller with 4:40 remaining in the game to give Plymouth the 12-point victory.

Plymouth improved to 2-4 and 2-3 in Northern 8 play. The Big Red host Holgate in Week 7.

The Lucas Cubs took a tough 21-7 Northern 10 Conference loss to Colonel Crawford on Friday, Sept. 25.

The Cubs lone score came in the first quarter on a Carter Cox TD run. Brady Guegold finished with 104 yards on 25 carries as the Cubs ran for 159 yards on 45 rushes and had just five passing yards.

Lucas fell to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the N10 and hosts Buckeye Central in Week 7.
