Michigan Football adds another MAC team to its 2029 schedule

The Michigan football program announced on Friday that it has added another future non-conference opponent to the schedule, setting up a matchup against Bowling Green at The Big House on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2029.

Interestingly, Michigan doesn't have any non-conference games scheduled for 2028 yet. However, with this addition, Michigan now has two of its three non-conference matchups locked in for the 2029 season, along with another MAC opponent in Western Michigan. The Wolverines will play the Broncos at The Big House on Sept. 1, just one week after the matchup with Bowling Green.

The matchup in 2029 will represent just the fourth all-time meeting between Michigan and Bowling Green, with the other three games coming in 2000, 2010 and 2023. Michigan won the 2023 matchup by a 31-6 final score, with Sherrone Moore earning the victory as interim head coach while Jim Harbaugh served the final game of a three-game suspension.

Bowling Green will also be under different leadership for the next matchup, as Eddie George is currently entering his second season as the head coach of the Falcons after going 4-8 in 2025. George was a legendary running back at Ohio State and won the Heisman Trophy in 1995, but he also finished his college career with a 1-2-1 record against Michigan.
