2 high schools in Montgomery County cancel football seasons due to player shortage

Two local high schools have canceled their football seasons due to a shortage of players.

The Jenkintown school district released a letter to parents saying the decision to end the varsity football season was made due to "safety concerns from low participation."

The team will continue to hold practices in the hopes of rebuilding.

Harriton High School in Lower Merion canceled its football season earlier this month, citing the lack of players for the team.
