Patriots vs Bears live updates: Score, highlights, analysis

The New England Patriots will step into the primetime spotlight of Thursday Night Football for a head-to-head clash with the Chicago Bears.

Even on a short week, it would be impossible not to get up for a showdown between Drake Maye and Caleb Williams. The quarterbacks of the present and future will do battle for a second time on Soldier Field in this matchup.

Maye and the Patriots got the better of Williams and the Bears back in 2024, when the two young gunslingers were rookies. So much has changed since that time, and they'll once again have an opportunity to prove themselves in this rematch.

The Patriots are coming off three straight wins over the Buffalo Bills, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, while the Bears bounced back from a loss to the Green Bay Packers by knocking off the Atlanta Falcons.

It'll be an uphill battle for the Patriots, who will be down multiple starters, including two offensive linemen, Alijah Vera-Tucker and Ben Brown. Veteran cornerback Carlton Davis III, as well as receivers Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins, will be out for this game as well.

Patriots vs Bears predictions, betting odds

Bears 28, Patriots 24. I believe the Patriots are the better football team on paper when healthy. That latter part is why I'm picking the Bears in this matchup. The Patriots will be down at least two starting offensive linemen, with both Alijah Vera-Tucker and Ben Brown being ruled out with injuries. Starting right tackle Morgan Moses is also questionable to play with a foot injury. Being banged up on the offensive front in a road matchup on a short week will be too much to overcome for Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and company.
