Kramaric shines as Hoffenheim stun Lyon in the Europa League

Andrej Kramaric had a brilliant evening as Hoffenheim stunned Ligue 1 leaders Lyon in a 3-0 triumph on Thursday to claim their first win in the Europa League this season.

The Germans took the lead shortly before the break as Tim Lemperle's throw-in was loose inside the box until the ball found Kramaric, who headed it into the goal.

Adam Daghim then doubled their advantage in the 49th. Kramaric received the ball near the penalty area and passed it to the left, where Noham Kamara accidentally set up Daghim, who cleverly slotted the ball into the lower-left corner.

Hoffenheim were finally able to celebrate the three points once Adam Hložek sealed the win in the 83rd. The German side intercepted a sloppy pass from Lyon and the ball again ended up with Kramaric, who served Hložek's effort.

The victory comes as huge relief for Hoffenheim. Before Thursday's game, they had only won three out of nine games in all competitions - none of them in the Europa League.
