Florida football will get another chance to reverse its recent trend of futility against rival Georgia in Atlanta.
The No. 20 Florida Gators (5-2, 3-2 SEC) are coming off a 27-24 upset win at Texas on October 17 before the bye week that snapped a two-game losing streak and revived its College Football Playoff hopes.
Florida has lost eight of its last nine against the Bulldogs, with the lone win coming in 2020. No, 5 Georgia (6-1, 4-1 SEC), under 11th-year coach Kirby Smart, is coming off a 27-24 loss to Auburn on October 24
The game will be played at Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta instead of Jacksonville due to renovations at EverBank Stadium for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The game will be played in Tampa in 2027 before returning to Jacksonville in 2028.
The game will serve as a homecoming for several Atlanta-area Gators , including running back Jadan Baugh, quarterback Aaron Philo, wide receiver Bailey Stockton and wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr.
Florida coach Jon Sumrall said Aaron Philo (shoulder) and Tramell Jones Jr. both took first team reps in practice on Monday, October 26. Sumrall won't name a starter yet for UGA. "We need both to be ready to play," Sumrall said. Also, Sumrall said wide receiver Vernell Brown III practiced fully on Monday and is close to 100 pct, Brown has missed UF's last three games with a knee strain.
