Curt Cignetti Tells Indiana Fans Not to 'B---h' About Shutout Win vs. Western Kentucky

The burden of expectations has resulted in a handful of Indiana football fans expressing some concern about last week's 38-0 win over Western Kentucky because it wasn't a larger margin of victory.

Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti's response to the fan reaction was telling them not to "b---h" about a 38-point win.

"What are we, 29-2? When I came, I saw the pictures, 10,000 people in the stands. Don't b---h about a 38-0 win," Cignetti said during an appearance on the Kirkwood and Dunn podcast.

Cignetti actually undersold his record at Indiana because last week's win improved it to 30-2, including 19 straight wins since the start of the 2025 season.

The Hoosiers entered their matchup with Western Kentucky favored by 44.5 points, per FanDuel Sportsbook . It was the third time in three games this season they have failed to cover the spread, though their average margin of victory so far is still 43.0 points per contest.

It is strange how fast the tide has turned for Indiana since Cignetti arrived. Before the 2024 season, a 38-0 win over any program would have been a cause for celebration in Bloomington.

Now, there is a huge microscope closely watching Indiana games. It doesn't help Cignetti's case that the Hoosiers' non-conference schedule was lacking in high-end competition.

Per ESPN's FPI metric, Indiana has played the fourth-easiest schedule out of 138 FBS programs thus far. The Big Ten has three of the four teams at the bottom of that list, including Indiana, Washington and Nebraska.

Cignetti will get the chance to show fans how good this year's Hoosiers team is as they get ready to start conference play. They will host undefeated Northwestern on Friday night.

The real gauntlet for Indiana begins on Oct. 17 when it kicks off a run that includes matchups with Ohio State, Michigan and USC in the span of five weeks.
