It's beginning of conference play for Alabama State (2-1) football when the Hornets welcome Mississippi Valley State (1-3) to ASU Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Alabama State is coming off an idle week after a Week 2 loss to Troy. Coach Eddie Robinson Jr. said over the off week, the Hornets were going to work on finding explosive plays on the offensive side of the ball. But Alabama State might be without quarterback Andrew Body who is dealing a wrist injury. Robinson said Body will be a game-time decision, and if he can't go, it'll be true freshman Aaron Frye that'll get the start.
The Hornets were picked to win the SWAC in the preseason. That climb to a SWAC title begins with MSVU in Week 4. And whether Alabama State has Body or not , it'll be up to Robinson to guide his Hornets to a win in the SWAC opener.
