PREVIEW: Barcelona look to extend their perfect start to the season against hosts Levante.

Barcelona have started LaLiga perfectly this season with four wins from four so far this season. They look to extend this winning run to five against Levante who are unbeaten in the last three.

Barcelona have scored 17 goals in the league and 22 in all competitions. They are averaging 4.25 goals per game in LaLiga with Raphinha topping the scoring charts. Barcelona have not just been a phenomenal attacking outfit but also strong in defence, so far they have conceded just two goals and managed three clean sheets, the most of any team in LaLiga.

As for Levante, they started the season quite shaky with back-to-back defeats and no goals scored. However, since then they have found some form and taken five points from their last three games. Goalscoring has proved difficult for The Frogs, having only scored in a single game. Levante put up some what of a statement victory in their only home game this season with a 5-2 victory over Real Betis , who have since defeated Real Madrid .

Mathew Ryan has been Levante's key man so far this season and played a pivotal role in their 'great escape' from relegation last season. He has the most saves per match by any goalkeeper in LaLiga with 4.4. He will be vital in keeping the Barcelona attack quiet

In previous seasons the fixture has always provided goals. The last three times Levante have hosted Barcelona the scoreline have read, 2-3 with a late Barcelona winner, 2-3 with another late Barcelona winner, and 3-3 with a late Levante leveller.

Despite this Barcelona come in clear favourites with no new injury concerns and Eric Garcia returning from suspension. Barca are not conceding goals and certainly know where the net is. They control the ball and take the game to the opposition. They have creative outlets who are not afraid to take players on such as new signing Anthony Gordon who has notched up 4 assists thus far and young star Lamine Yamal who shined again midweek in the Champions League against Feyenoord with a goal and two assists.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has previewed his sides trip to Valencia to face Levante in the media this week and praised their recent performances in particular their win against Real Betis.

Flick explained: 'Levante is a team that played a great match against Betis. They are well-structured. They know how to play in attack, and it will be a good match to compete in'

Flick also had great praise for his sides defensive performances despite their attack taking much of the headlines recently.

Flick said: 'We talk a lot about the attack, because they score a lot of goal, but for me, the defence is very important, and I see that everyone is performing at a fantastic level'

Flick outlined Barcelona's priorities for this season following their success in LaLiga last season winning the title by eight points and winning back-to-back titles.

He stated: 'This year we want to win the Champions League, that's our goal, but winning LaLiga is also important. Winning it three times in a row would be incredible.'

Ahead of their challenge against favourites Barca, Levante coach Luís Castro expressed confidence in his side and argued there is a reason both teams play in the same league, but the game would be a challenge and his side would have to perform if they were to get anything out of the game.

He explained: 'We know they are one of the best teams in the world, but we play in the same league. You have to be at your best level, with maximum concentration, and try to hurt them where you can… the match starts 0-0, eleven against eleven and we are going to do our best'

Castro also touched on how the Levante faithful have helped them in their home games and will play an important role in Sunday's match.

'The fans will once again play a fundamental role as the twelfth player. The support from the stands can be decisive against an opponent like FC Barcelona. Our stadium has a different atmosphere… the truth is that we have played with one more, and that is giving us a lot of strength at home. There will be moments when we will surely suffer, but if more than 20,000 of us are suffering, it's better than suffering alone.' Castro explained.

Levante will hope to cause an upset and give their fans great joy, but Barcelona are favourites for a reason and hope to extend their lead at the top of LaLiga.
