Folarin Balogun was seemingly headed to Everton, but the potential deal could be in jeopardy after his physical, according to multiple reports.
Everton had reportedly agreed on a transfer fee with Monaco to bring aboard the USMNT striker and former Arsenal man ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline, per Patrick Boyland, James Horncastle and Tom Bogert of The Athletic .
Per that report, "Monaco sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships, stated a deal consisting of an initial €45 million (£38.58 million; $52.3 million) plus €5 million (£4.3 million; $5.8 million) in potential add-ons had been agreed between the two clubs, while Everton sources said the deal was worth in the region of £40 million ($54 million; €46.7 million)."
Football reporter Fabrizio Romano reported later on Monday that Balogun has agreed on personal terms with Everton.
Balogun, 25, scored 13 goals and added four assists for Monaco in France's Ligue 1 last season, by far his best campaign with the club after joining from Arsenal in the 2022-23 campaign.
And he was brilliant for the United States in the World Cup ( red card controversies aside ), scoring three goals in four games. Now had a chance to return to the Premier League as a part of Everton's revamped attack after the club also reportedly agreed to bring back Jack Grealish on a season-long loan and reportedly came to an agreement to sell winger Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City.
However, both Balogun and Everton face uncertainty following the latest news.
