Barcelona star claims Blaugrana ‘were better’ than Real Madrid in defeat

Barcelona star João Cancelo has revealed his take that, over the course of the 90 minutes, he and his teammates outperformed Real Madrid on Sunday.

This of course comes fresh off the Blaugrana being condemned to a first domestic defeat of the season.

Hansi Flick's troops welcomed Real Madrid to the Spotify Camp Nou yesterday evening, in the knowledge that victory would see them all but end their arch rivals' La Liga title hopes.

When all was said and done, though, it was José Mourinho's visitors who emerged triumphant, producing arguably their standout performance of the term to edge Barca out by two goals to one.

And yet, as alluded to above, one individual of the opinion that the latter were in fact the superior team on the day is João Cancelo.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side's 2nd defeat on the bounce in all competitions, defender Cancelo revealed his take that:

"We were better than Real Madrid. We had more chances. But this is Real Madrid; they only need a few chances."
