AP Top 25: Florida drops 8 spots, Alabama moves ahead of Indiana
The Gators are now outside the top 15 after their 45-17 loss at Missouri.
Florida dropped eight spots in the AP Top 25 after its loss to Missouri.
The Gators got blown out 45-17 and fell from No. 8 to No. 16. The top five teams in the AP poll were unchanged, as Alabama's big win over Mississippi State pushed the Crimson Tide up a spot to No. 6 ahead of Indiana.
No. 1 Texas was off in Week 5, No. 2 Georgia easily beat Vanderbilt, No. 3 Notre Dame took down North Carolina, No. 4 Miami had no issues against Clemson and No. 5 Ohio State beat Iowa on the road .
The Hawkeyes dropped from No. 14 to No. 20 after the loss.
BYU, Ole Miss and LSU fill out the top 10 in Florida's absence. The Rebels were off in Week 5 as well, while BYU beat TCU and LSU beat FCS foe McNeese in a game that Lane Kiffin didn't want to shorten.
Missouri moved up to No. 14 after its big win over the Gators. The Tigers jumped 11 spots from No. 25 and are behind Texas Tech, Utah and Oregon just outside the top 10.
Mississippi State fell only one spot to No. 17 after its loss to Alabama.
Kentucky overcame a 17-0 first-half deficit to beat South Carolina on the road in overtime, but the Wildcats — who were slight underdogs — actually fell out of the top 25 completely. Kentucky is the top team also receiving votes as Pitt (5-0), moved into the top 25 despite losing QB Mason Heintschel for the season in a Friday night win over Virginia Tech.
