Celta Vigo are reportedly "closing in on [a] personal terms agreement" with Stefan Bajcetic .

Fabrizio Romano shared the update on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday morning, with the midfielder looking unlikely to resurrect his Liverpool career.

The Spaniard's current terms are set to expire in the summer of 2027.

According to recent reports, the footballer is understood to have flown to Finland for fitness checks ahead of a mooted switch to La Liga.

It's suggested that Bajcetic would have to terminate his contract a year early for the deal to go through. However, it's hard to imagine Liverpool standing in the player's way, given his current value will more than likely be minimal following a string of injury issues and mixed loan spells.

More to the point, it's not an option we can seriously rely upon in midfield, so we've no doubt Andoni Iraola would be prepared to sanction the exit.

Lots of exit activity but Liverpool are desperate for incomings

For a footballer who arrived with plenty of potential, and even briefly threatened to show promise of becoming a mainstay under Jurgen Klopp, it's a massive shame to see the former Las Palmas loanee's Anfield career fizzle out so disappointingly.

Yet it underlines the fact that Liverpool are proving to be frustratingly quiet on the incomings front, while further thinning their squad.

We've already seen Curtis Jones make a permanent switch to Inter Milan , and the club is adamant that we won't be signing any midfielders in the window .

Yet, in the one department where we should be seeing progress, we've seen talks stall for Yankuba Minteh and Liverpool step away from a deal with PSG for Ibrahim Mbaye .

Meanwhile, we're still waiting on the club to finalise a deal for top target Bradley Barcola .
