‘Our noise is to win games’; Enzo Maresca challenges Man City to continue winning mentality
The Man City boss tasked his team with continuing their winning streak in order to silence opposition fans
Enzo Maresca declared that Manchester City brought their own noise to Anfield afte r they won 3-0 in front of a hostile Liverpool crowd in their first game since being found guilty of 114 Premier League charges.
And the City manager has challenged his team to carry on silencing opposition crowds by winning.
The Liverpool supporters called City cheats in a series of chants but Erling Haaland , Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki scored as Maresca's team maintained their 100 percent start to the Premier League season.
City still face potential punishments including expulsion from the top flight or a points penalty that could result in relegation.
But Maresca's team shrugged that off to record their joint biggest Premier League win at Anfield.
And the Italian said: "It was not easy for the players after the last two or three weeks but they dealt with the situation very well. I said during the week we need to learn how to deal with the outside noise because of the situation. The noise will always be there so we need to learn how to deal with that but at the same time we need to try and bring our noise, which is win games which is what we have done today.
"At the end of the game, our fans were singing so the noise was from us and not the environment. All the away games are going to be with noise so we need to learn how to deal with the noise. And at the same time, we need to make our noise. Our noise is we're singing at the end, our fans, and this has to be our target at the moment."
