Real Madrid and Barcelona remain keen on Arsenal star

Martin Zubimendi was expected to play an even bigger role at Arsenal this season after becoming an important member of the team last campaign. However, the midfielder has struggled to secure regular playing time since the new campaign began, raising questions about his future at the Emirates.

The Spaniard has also been played out of position when given opportunities, making his situation different from what many expected. Mikel Arteta was keen on working with him, but Zubimendi could now consider his options if his role does not improve.

Real Madrid and Barcelona monitor Zubimendi

Zubimendi attracted interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea during the last transfer window, although neither club completed a move for him. Speculation about a possible return to Spain has continued , with fresh interest emerging from two of the country's biggest clubs.

According to Team Talk , Real Madrid are still monitoring the midfielder, while Barcelona have also entered the race to sign him. The Catalan club reportedly believe he could strengthen their squad and sees an opportunity to recruit him if Arsenal cannot offer him the regular football he wants.

Barcelona could look to take advantage of Zubimendi's current situation, particularly if his lack of minutes continues over the coming months. A move could potentially happen in January or at the end of the season, depending on how circumstances develop at Arsenal.

Zubimendi's situation presents an important question for Arsena l. The club brought him in with expectations that he would contribute significantly, but his limited involvement so far could encourage interest from teams prepared to offer him a more prominent role.

Arteta will have to consider whether the midfielder can become a more regular part of his plans as the campaign progresses. Arsenal may prefer to keep him and give him more opportunities, rather than allow a player with his qualities to leave before he has fully settled into the team.

However, if the situation remains unchanged, interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona could become increasingly difficult to ignore. Both clubs may view the midfielder as an opportunity to strengthen their squads, particularly if he becomes available.
