FAYETTEVILLE, AR — DeSean Bishop tied College Football Hall of Fame member Beattie Feathers on Tennessee 's career list for rushing touchdowns.
Bishop scored on a eight-yard run with two minutes left in the fourth quarter for the 14th-ranked Vols against Arkansas on Oct. 10.
It was Bishop's 27th rushing TD of his career, which moved him into a tie for sixth place in UT history with Feathers (1931-33) and Andy Kozar (1950-52). He scored three TDs in 2024, 16 TDs in 2025 and eight TDs so far in 2026.
Bishop, a Knoxville native and former Karns High standout, could challenge UT's all-time record this season. It's held by Gene McEver, another College Football Hall of Fame member, who scored 37 rushing TDs from 1928-31.

Dylan Sampson (2022-24) and James Stewart (1991-94) are tied for second with 35 TDs each. Joshua Dobbs (2013-16) is fourth with 32 TDs. Stanley Morgan is fifth with 28 TDs.
Catching Feathers is already quite a feat for Bishop. Feathers was arguably the best player in college football in 1933, two years before the Heisman Trophy was established. He was the SEC MVP for the Vols and then the first player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season with the Chicago Bears in 1934.
