USMNT vs. Chile Score, Highlights, Stats and Reaction

Make it two promising performances in a row from the USMNT.

The Americans defeated Chile 4-2 on Tuesday night, their second straight victory over a South American opponent in their first friendlies since this summer's World Cup.

Sebastian Berhalter, Julian Hall, Chris Richards and Mathis Albert all scored for the USMNT.

Diego Ulloa and Maximiliano Gutiérrez each found the back of the net for Chile.

There was also a heated confrontation between the teams late in the contest:

It was Hall's second straight game with a goal for the USMNT after he also tallied in last Wednesday's 4-1 win over Peru.

The youth movement has been real for the USMNT over the past two contests. Hall was one of two teenagers to score on Wednesday, joining Justin Ellis. Star prospect Cavan Sullivan made appearances in both fixtures. Eight teenagers made their debut appearance on Tuesday as Mauricio Pochettino keeps his eyes fixed on the future of the program.

But beyond just the youngsters, there was plenty to like about Tuesday's performance, including Berhalter continuing to state his case for a bigger role:

The USMNT finished the contest dominating possession (58 percent) and had more shots on target (8-7), though Chile out-shot the United States (14-13) and had a stark advantage in corners (13-5).

Up next for the United States is a matchup against rivals Mexico (Saturday, Oct. 3) and Canada (Tuesday, Oct. 6) during the extended international break.
