'They beat us in every part of the game:' Austin FC routed by MLS' top team Nashville SC
Austin FC suffered a brutal 4-1 loss Saturday to Nashville SC in an MLS match at Q2 Stadium.
Austin FC picked an interesting time to have one of its most lackadaisical performances of the season.
Coming out of a two-week international break and needing a result for their ever-dwindling playoff hopes, the Verde and Black were outplayed in every aspect Saturday during a 4-1 loss to Nashville SC at Q2 Stadium.
And though Austin FC interim coach Davy Arnaud called Nashville "the best team we've played this year" and the Tennessee club currently has the best record in MLS, the Verde and Black failed to show up for most of the match, looked lethargic for long stretches and were lucky the scoreline wasn't worse.
Reed Baker-Whiting, Elias Saad, Shakur Mohammed and Hany Mukhtar scored for Nashville, while Brandon Vazquez finished Austin FC's goal.
