Here's where Kentucky football landed in the Week 5 US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 after the Cats improved to 3-1 under new coach Will Stein.
LEXINGTON — Kentucky football is back in the polls after a 3-1 start this season under new coach Will Stein .
It's the first time the Wildcats have been ranked in nearly three years. The last time UK had a number next to its name: Week 7 of the 2023 season . It lost to Missouri the following week — Oct. 14, 2023 — and hasn't been ranked since.
Victories over Youngstown State , Texas A&M and South Alabama lifted Stein's squad into the top 25. Kentucky (3-1, 1-1 SEC) is No. 24 in the Associated Press Top 25. The Wildcats remained unranked in the US LBM Football Coaches Poll , receiving the 27th-most points.
Kentucky jumps back into SEC play this week, hitting the road to take on South Carolina .
The game between the Wildcats and Gamecocks will kick off at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
