Lane Kiffin Gets Students to Heckle LSU Players in Trending Video as Prep for Ole Miss Rivalry Game

LSU coach Lane Kiffin is preparing his team for a rowdy Ole Miss crowd during his Saturday return to Oxford.

ESPN's Pat McAfee shared a video Friday (1:11:30 mark of the video below) of Kiffin and his players walking through a gauntlet of LSU students pretending to heckle them.

No. 7 LSU is set to face No. 8 Ole Miss for the first time since Kiffin departed the program Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Kiffin led Ole Miss to an 11-1 record and the program's first playoff berth before accepting the head coaching job at LSU, leading to him and the Rebels parting ways before the College Football Playoff.

Pete Golding led Ole Miss to the CFP semifinal before suffering an elimination loss to Miami.

Ole Miss has reportedly been preparing for the upcoming reunion with their former coach by instituting new safety measures ahead of Saturday's game.

The athletics programs told students Thursday people wearing LSU colors will not be allowed into the Ole Miss student section, per Tyler Komis .

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has also announced an increase in law enforcement presence around Oxford ahead of the game.

Kiffin told reporters Monday he had been preparing his players for the matchup by telling him the attention was directed toward him rather than them.

"I told the players today, 'You don't have anything to worry about as far as attention on you all week and everything,'" Kiffin said earlier this week. "'There's just going to be so much attention, hatred, everything on me.' I said, 'You just get to go play.'"

Both Ole Miss and LSU have started out the season with two straight wins, although Tigers quarterback Sam Leavitt stumbled early in last weekend's matchup against Louisiana Tech before recovering to lead his team to a blowout victory.

Kiffin will now look to bounce back with a revenge victory against a program he publicly criticized for not letting him continue coaching during last winter's CFP run.
