Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund and Freiburg share the lead

Three of the four teams that reached the third round of the Bundesliga with a 100% record were in action on Saturday morning (12).

And two of them picked up another win, remaining tied at the top of the table.

Borussia Dortmund beat newly promoted Paderborn, while Freiburg thrashed Borussia Mönchengladbach .

The exception was Augsburg , who started the day in first place but conceded a late equalizer against Bayer Leverkusen .

Elversberg could also end the round with nine points from three matches, as they face Bayern Munich this Sunday (13).

It was not Guirassy's day to be the goalscorer.

Dortmund's No. 9 had two goals ruled out for offside in the first half. In the second half, he was denied by the opposing goalkeeper.

But it was his assist that set up Fábio Silva to open the scoring.

Felix Nmecha sealed the win with two goals late on.

He saved a penalty taken by Mainz when the score was still 1-0 and extended an impressive record.

This was the SIXTH consecutive penalty saved by Atubolu, who was signed by Eintracht from Freiburg last month.

The match was decided only in the closing minutes.

Bayer Leverkusen took the lead, went behind, and found the equalizer shortly before stoppage time in the second half.

Hoffenheim had lost from winning positions in the first two Bundesliga rounds this season.

This Saturday, the team went in front and then conceded the equalizer.

But just as fears of a third comeback defeat started to grow, Hoffenheim regained the lead and left the pitch with all three points.
