SZ+: Liberty Football, Greenbrier East Lady Spartan Soccer talk big wins, turning the tide

GHENT, WV (WVNS) - The Liberty Raiders are on a blazing hot winning streak, beating Greenbrier West and James Monroe emphatically.

The Raiders have been active in all phases of the game – including timely blocked kicks and punts. Quarterback Jaxson Workman has also proved to be a force of nature week in and week out.

Their win against the Mavericks marked the 4 th time in school history they have been able to notch a win against James Monroe.

"From the opening kickoff, I just feel like we were in control the whole game. We, first possession, we had the ball for 10 minutes of the first quarter. So, I just feel like, from the opening kickoff, we were in control of the whole game," said Workman.

The Liberty Raiders are approaching a bye week.

They were able to strike revenge on the reigning AAAA State Champions Oak Hill, securing a 2 to 0 win in Fayette County on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
