Whistles, boos & jeers: Real Madrid’s fans take aim at club’s stars during Inter Milan clash

The home crowd in attendance at La Liga giants Real Madrid 's meeting with Inter Milan on Tuesday made clear time and again their unhappiness with the level of performance conjured up by their side.

This comes after Los Blancos again looked some way short of their brilliant best…

José Mourinho's troops marked their return to action a short time ago, kicking the club's continental campaign into gear in a Champions League showdown with the aforementioned Inter Milan.

Real headed into proceedings with sights on a bounce-back performance, after a damaging first defeat of the term at Real Betis over the weekend.

When all was said and done, the evening's hosts did emerge on the right side of a 2-1 result. But safe to say, their performance was not exactly befitting of a side with hopes of going all the way in Europe this season.

Inter, for the most part, dominated possession and territory, with Real Madrid having played the game largely on the break.

This setup did not at all please those in attendance at the Bernabéu, who, throughout the 90 minutes, rained down on their own players with boos, whistles, jeers and more.

A winning start for Mourinho's men in the Champions League… But far from a perfect night for the competition's most successful team ever.
