With the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the rearview mirror, Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal begin the 2030 cycle with four UEFA Nations League group stage matches.

Ronaldo confirmed that this past summer's FIFA tournament would be his last, as Portugal reached the Round of 16 before being eliminated by eventual champions Spain in a 1-0 defeat. However, Ronaldo is not quite done yet with the Selecao.

As part of League A, they have been drawn against Wales, Denmark , and Norway in group stage play. They will meet all three teams in this September-October international break, including two against Norway.

Only the top finisher in the group will advance to the Nations League semifinals, leaving no room for error in their group matches.

It's expected that Cristiano Ronaldo will be involved in Portugal's UEFA Nations League matches this fall.

While Ronaldo told reporters that the 2026 FIFA World Cup would be his last, he has not fully retired from international duty just yet.

With his former Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus being hired by the Portuguese federation to lead the national team, it's believed highly likely that Ronaldo will be called into the squad.
