Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte wasn't pleased with the actions of edge Colin Simmons and running back Raleek Brown during Saturday's win over Tennessee. During the contest, both players engaged in what Del Conte referred in his Tuesday newsletter as "inappropriate celebrations."

In that newsletter, Del Conte made it clear that those types of celebrations will not be tolerated by the program , per 247sports.com.

"We can all agree it was a heck of a game and an incredible performance on the field, but I also know we had some major issues to address with inappropriate celebrations from our players. "I'm not happy about that. I know none of us are, and it was embarrassing to our proud and widely respected football team, athletics program and university. Del Conte said Texas coach Steve Sarkisian addressed the celebrations with the players and the entire team Monday. Del Conte then added, "The message is clear — the players' conduct did not reflect the values of Texas Athletics or our university and cannot happen again."

Del Conte then apologized to the Longhorns community for the actions of both Simmons and Brown. Del Conte said both players have learned from their mistakes and will "grow from this."

Simmons found himself at the center of the controversy Saturday after he celebrated a sack by " simulating using the restroom ," referee Kyle Olson announced. Simmons mimicked urinating on the field during his celebration, which earned him a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Brown came under fire for a celebration after his fourth-quarter touchdown. Brown appeared to wipe his genitals with his hand and then mimic fainting when he brought his hand up to his face. Brown's celebration was not flagged.

After the contest Saturday, Simmons apologized for his actions, saying he got caught up in the moment. On Monday, Sarkisian said he addressed both celebrations with the players, telling reporters, " that behavior is unacceptable. "

Del Conte let Texas supporters know he agreed with that sentiment Tuesday.
