Ole Miss announces major injury news before facing Georgia
Georgia just got some major injury news from their next opponent, with running back Kewan Lacy suffering a dislocated shoulder against Texas.
The Georgia Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1 in SEC) face a tough test after their matchup against Florida. They have to travel to play the Ole Miss Rebels (5-2, 3-2 in SEC), who could jeopardize their SEC championship chances. Rebels head coach Pete Golding announced major injury news that star running back Kewan Lacy dislocated his shoulder and will be out against Auburn this week. The injury puts him at risk of missing the game against Georgia .
Lacy suffered the injury in Ole Miss's 34-27 loss against Texas last week, and it's the same shoulder he injured in Ole Miss's win against LSU that caused him to miss the game against Florida. He first injured his shoulder in last year's College Football Playoff win over Tulane, and while he stayed active during the rest of Ole Miss's run to the CFP semifinal, he had to undergo offseason surgery.
Lacy had a breakout sophomore season for Ole Miss in 2025, registering 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns on 306 carries. He played twice against Georgia, recording 31 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in the regular-season loss and another 98 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in Ole Miss's Sugar Bowl win.
This season, he has 388 yards and five touchdowns on 78 carries in six games. Lacy was a first-team preseason All-SEC pick. Ole Miss really struggled without him in their 52-28 loss to Florida. Georgia fans will keep his status in mind after they face Florida.
