Ole Miss football made a stand, taking down its former coach Lane Kiffin and LSU in a top-10 ranked battle on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The result of the game — which was the biggest not just in the SEC in Week 3, but all of college football — will surely move the No. 9 Rebels up in the US LBM Coaches Poll after they took down the No. 7 Tigers. Trinidad Chambliss was the X-Factor in the game, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for another in the 32-24 win.

Elsewhere, No. 8 Texas A&M was shocked at home against unranked Kentucky , suffering a 31-21 loss to Kentucky at home that will result in a tumble in the rankings. Mississippi State , led by Kamario Taylor 's four passing touchdowns, also came back to beat South Carolina on the road. Could the Bulldogs jump into the polls for the first time since 2022?

Then there was No. 10 Alabama , which overcame a surprisingly porous defense to come from behind and beat unranked Florida State 50-36 in Tuscaloosa. Keelon Russell was magnificent in the outing, throwing for three touchdowns and rushing for another in the win.

Finally, Clark Lea's Vanderbilt team started 3-0 in consecutive season for the first time since the 1940s thanks to a disastrous final play by North Carolina State , in which quarterback CJ Bailey fumbled the ball in the end zone when he should have taken a safety.
