LaNorris Sellers limps game-winning TD into the end zone as No. 21 South Carolina downs Texas A&M
Sellers left for the locker room right before halftime due to an ankle injury.
The No. 21 South Carolina Gamecocks pulled off the 17-9 comeback win over Texas A&M Saturday night.
South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers went to halftime early due to an ankle injury. He started the second half, but wasn't his usual dual-threat self because the injury was clearly still affecting him.
With just 1:19 left in the game, Sellers took off for a 41-yard rushing touchdown (just his second rush of the second half).
Sellers limped into the end zone and needed help from teammates and staff to get to the bench.
The South Carolina quarterback was injured with just under 5 ½ minutes to go in the first half. Sellers was sacked and took a hit from the front and the back, and it looked like a defender may have rolled up on his left ankle.
Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer confirmed at halftime that Sellers had an ankle injury, said that the team was worried about it, and that the quarterback was getting X-rays.
After halftime, Beamer said the X-rays were negative and that Sellers would give it a go. The broadcast noted that during warmups, Sellers' throws didn't look good and that the ankle was clearly affecting him.
The dual-threat QB is known for using his legs. He had four rushes in the first half, and only one in the second before his touchdown. Sellers finished with 34 yards and a score on six carries.
After the game, Beamer spoke about how much his team fought and the grit it showed, and he applied those traits to Sellers.
"I mean, what do you say? What a warrior he [Sellers] is. He didn't even know if he was going to be able to play in the second half, and for him to go out there and gut it out like we did and have a touchdown run there at the end of the game… …I'm glad he's on our side, that's all I know."

South Carolina began the season 2-3, but has rattled off four consecutive wins, all in conference play. Sellers is a large reason why.
The quarterback threw for 301 yards and 3 touchdowns, with 2 interceptions, and added 96 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground in South Carolina's win over Oklahoma last week.
Sellers has had at least 96 rushing yards in three of his last five games, showing how important his legs are not only to his game but to the South Carolina offense as a whole.
This season, the South Carolina QB has now thrown for 1,849 yards with 16 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Sellers has run the ball 98 times for 603 yards and 6 scores.
The Gamecocks are now 6-3 and will take on Arkansas on the road next week, with everyone wondering what the QB's status will be after the adrenaline of Saturday's win wears off.
Texas A&M drops to 4-5. The Aggies return home next week to host No. 13 Tennessee.
